In July 2012, we signed the Partnership Declaration with the host communities of Chapais and Chibougamau.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This declaration aims to respond to needs and initiatives of mutual interest, such as the sustainable and responsible development of the Renard project, communications, employment creation, economic and social development, and attracting newcomers to the region.<\/p>\n\n<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

\n The Mecheshoo Agreement <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

In March 2012, we signed the Mecheshoo Agreement<\/a> with the Cree Nation of Mistissini, the Grand Council of the Crees (Eeyou Istchee) and the Cree Regional Authority, now called the Cree Nation Government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This agreement governs the long-term relationship between Stornoway and the Cree communities for the duration of the Renard project. The agreement provides training, employment and business opportunities for the Crees. It also establishes the social, cultural and environmental values to which Stornoway must adhere, as well as a mechanism by which the Cree parties will financially benefit from the success of the Renard mine project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
